A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage aged, unresolved claims by following up with insurance carriers, researching issues, and ensuring payments are received.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Handling patient balances as assigned and completing other related duties as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience where problem solving and research were key to success
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Flexibility to work on competing priorities and make informed decisions independently
