Job Summary
Working remotely, the part-time Indigo Premier Research Mentor will guide high school students from diverse backgrounds in developing their academic research projects, fostering critical thinking and independence while sharing expertise in a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support students in transforming their interests into research projects, including literature review and argument development
- Mentor students through the academic research process, encouraging critical thinking and independence
- Adapt mentoring approaches to meet the individual needs of students from various cultural and educational backgrounds
Required qualifications
- Currently hold a faculty position at a top 15 university in the US or a top 10 university in the UK
- Possess strong subject knowledge to guide students in exploring research topics with academic depth
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and encouragement while mentoring high school students
- Be comfortable working with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds
- Exhibit the ability to work independently and adapt to a collaborative, evolving startup environment
