Accountant II

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Accountant II will manage payroll accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations, while supporting travel and expense accounting efforts within the Combat Mission Systems accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform journal entries and accounting close activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Convert payroll import files to Excel, prepare control reports, and resolve unreconciled transactions in collaboration with Payroll and Tax teams
• Support travel accounting matters by partnering with the Concur Travel & Expense team and Program Finance on related entries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts and analytical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Proven ability to manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in payroll/labor accounting is preferred
• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise discretion in compliance with policies and accounting principles
