Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support Texas first responders, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage claims follow-up, work with insurance carriers and patients, and ensure timely resolution of accounts, with the opportunity for hybrid or remote work after a 90-day onboarding period in Terrell, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve claims over 60 days old and manage assigned denials and correspondence
• Check claim status and prepare corrected claims and appeals using insurance portals
• Spot trends in denials and payments, reporting findings to the Accounts Receivable Manager

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing or accounts receivable experience
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
• Familiarity with CMS-1500/837P claims and medical terminology
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical billing software
