Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

Managing accounts receivable for insurance claims, the full-time Accounts Receivable Insurance Specialist will ensure compliance with billing guidelines, handle collections through payer portals and phone lines, and resolve claim edits and denials while working remotely during standard business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Submit timely and accurate claims and appeals to health insurance carriers for various health plans
• Monitor and resolve unpaid, rejected, and denied claims, documenting all collection activities in the billing system
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure correct processing and payment of claims

Required qualifications

• Experience with hospital billing (HB) and professional billing (PB)
• Proven track record in handling denials and appeals
• Ability to manage confidential information in a HIPAA-compliant manner
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating accounts and determining resolution actions
• Familiarity with payer websites and clinical applications for claim substantiation
