Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Accounts Receivable Resolution team, the part-time Accounts Receivable Specialist will coordinate third-party account receivable activities, ensuring timely resolution and recovery of outstanding balances while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and resolve outstanding accounts through assigned work queues and reports
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, underpaid, or incorrectly processed insurance claims to secure appropriate reimbursement
• Identify denial trends and reimbursement barriers, communicating findings to leadership as appropriate

Required qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or denial management
• Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and insurance billing practices
• Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs)
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding concepts
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and payer portal navigation
