Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

Ensuring the timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist I will verify eligibility, update patient information, and research unpaid claims in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and obtain eligibility and authorization using payer websites and client systems
• Research and monitor unpaid or denied claims, ensuring timely filing and resolution
• Contact payers to secure payment and maintain confidentiality of patient information

Required qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical collections or billing experience
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI
• Familiarity with third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Basic understanding of health information systems (e.g., EMR, Claim Scrubbers)
