Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing processes, the remote Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage insurance and patient billing tasks, ensuring prompt payments and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities:

• Make calls to patients and insurance companies to research claims and obtain necessary information
• Follow up on unpaid claims and self-pay accounts to minimize aging accounts
• Document account activities and perform quality checks on claims in the processing system

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare claims processing or billing
• Hands-on experience with insurance appeals and familiarity with ICD-10 and HCPCS
• Proficiency in billing software and payer portals
• Experience in EMS billing preferred, with strong customer service skills
