Active VA Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking a collaborative Remote DE/VA Underwriter with Renovation experience, the position requires an Active VA LAPP/SAR certification and offers the opportunity to evaluate mortgage loan applications while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate mortgage loan applications for compliance with company policies and regulations
- Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
- Collaborate with processors, loan officers, and stakeholders to resolve questions and expedite the underwriting process
Required qualifications
- Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
- Must have used DE and VA designation within the last 11 months
- Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
- Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
