Job Summary
To support aspiring medical students, the part-time Admissions Writing Coach will enhance application materials by providing detailed feedback on essays and personal statements, ensuring they align with admissions prompts while maintaining the student's authentic voice in a fully remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Coach students through various admissions materials, including personal statements and secondary essays
- Provide substantive feedback on content, structure, and language, emulating an admissions committee's perspective
- Lead brainstorming sessions and document guidance for consistency across the team
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional editing, writing, teaching, publishing, or journalism experience
- Exceptional writing and coaching skills with a strong command of grammar and style
- Experience coaching or editing medical school admissions materials preferred
- Familiarity with AMCAS, AACOMAS, and TMDSAS preferred
