Job Summary
Transforming complex technical findings into clear and structured reports, the contract-based AEC Expert Report Writer will develop expert reports for construction disputes, insurance claims, and litigation, working remotely and dedicating approximately 20 hours per quarter.
Key responsibilities
- Develop expert reports using the IRAC framework (Issue, Rule, Analysis, Conclusion)
- Translate expert findings and technical documentation into cohesive reports addressing construction defects and claims
- Collaborate with subject matter experts on drafts and revisions while maintaining independent technical conclusions
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated experience writing formal AEC expert reports for insurance, surety, or litigation
- Strong knowledge of construction practices and engineering principles
- Familiarity with IRAC and evidence-based expert reporting
- Ability to communicate complex findings accurately and efficiently
- Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) background
