Agency Underwriting Manager
Job Summary
Leading the day-to-day operations of the Agency Underwriting Department, the full-time salaried Agency Underwriting Manager will oversee underwriting quality, productivity, and compliance while coaching staff and driving strategic improvements in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations to achieve production, quality, and service-level objectives
- Establish and monitor departmental goals and KPIs to ensure operational targets are met
- Coach and develop underwriting staff to enhance technical expertise and performance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, with FHA and VA loan expertise
- Current or prior DE/FHA and VA/SARR underwriting authority
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role within mortgage operations
- In-depth knowledge of FHA Handbook 4000.1 and VA underwriting guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with reporting tools and workflow management systems
