Agricultural Modeling Associate Director

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Agricultural Modeling Associate Director, this remote position will manage all aspects of agriculture modeling, including data preparation, crop yield model development, and in-season forecasting, while collaborating with stakeholders to meet client needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute agriculture modeling tasks such as data preparation, portfolio analysis, and reporting results
• Develop and implement crop yield models and stochastic yield simulation frameworks for major U.S. crops
• Enhance analytical processes to improve efficiency and client outcomes while presenting results to stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in physics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• 4+ years of experience in research and quantitative modeling, particularly in statistical and predictive models
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, with strong programming skills in Python and/or R
• Knowledge of the U.S. crop insurance market and experience with weather and climate datasets is preferred
• Ability to independently formulate research questions and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
