Job Summary
To support advanced agricultural modeling initiatives, the contract Agronomic Systems Modeler will lead the development and application of predictive models for crop performance, collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams while focusing on data-driven decision-making across diverse crop production systems.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze production systems and methodologies to support continuous improvement in agricultural operations
- Develop and validate crop modeling approaches to quantify Genotype Environment Management interactions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide technical guidance and maintain awareness of industry trends
Required qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong experience with APSIM, DSSAT, or similar crop models
- Deep understanding of crop physiology and major U.S. row-crop production systems, preferably corn and soybean
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R for modeling and analytics
- Experience managing large agricultural datasets and utilizing AI-assisted development tools
