AI Security VP

Job Summary

To lead the security initiatives at a forward-thinking AI-native company, the full-time salaried VP of Security will manage AI security functions, oversee security engineering and operations, and ensure enterprise trust while working closely with senior leadership in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the AI security function, including building an internal AI gateway and hardening consumer-facing AI surfaces
• Direct security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec, driving a secure-by-design roadmap and automated response playbooks
• Own the security narrative for enterprise trust and fundraising, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards while facilitating customer security reviews

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles during periods of hypergrowth
• Strong technical expertise in cloud-native security, particularly with AWS identity and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up, not just manage existing programs
• Executive presence with experience in engaging with boards and enterprise customers on security matters
• Deep understanding of AI security challenges, including prompt injection and data exfiltration risks
