AIX System Administrator
Job Summary
Working remotely on a long-term contract basis, the AIX System Administrator will manage regular system administration tasks, automate software lifecycle management, and apply analytics to predict and resolve issues.
Key responsibilities
- Perform regular system administration activities and automate software lifecycle management for operating system components
- Identify and resolve issues through analytics on past data, incidents, and patterns
- Transition work schedule from Monday-Friday to either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in Unix operating system technologies
- Expert knowledge of AIX LVM, LPAR profile creation, and AIX OS installation via NIM
- Strong experience with automation and orchestration tools, including Ansible and Python
- Solid foundation in networking concepts and AIX, VIOS network administration
- Familiarity with Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies
