AIX Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support enterprise Unix infrastructure, the remote AIX Systems Administrator will manage operating system automation, improve system reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while working on a 3-year contract with potential for extension or permanent conversion.
Key responsibilities
- Automate operating system lifecycle management and proactively resolve infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with technology teams to support enterprise networking, storage, and operating system environments
- Implement Agile practices to deliver reliable and efficient infrastructure services
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in Unix/AIX administration, including extensive hands-on IBM AIX expertise
- Expert knowledge of IBM Power Systems, including LVM, LPAR configuration, and PowerVM administration
- Strong experience with AIX installation and configuration using Network Installation Management (NIM)
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or Unix shell scripting
- Experience with virtualization, clustering technologies, and enterprise networking and storage services
