Algorithm Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Algorithm Engineer, this hybrid role will design, develop, and test automated detection algorithms for security screening applications, while providing mentorship to junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Torrance, CA, and remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop automated detection algorithms for various inspection modalities
- Independently convert general requirements into functional software
- Evaluate current technologies and share expertise within the algorithm development team
Required qualifications
- PhD in Medical Imaging, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with a Master's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience in algorithm development
- Proficiency in Python or C++ software development on Windows and/or Linux
- Experience with object detection, image segmentation, and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
- Familiarity with cloud-based services like AWS and containerization tools such as Docker is a plus
