Algorithm Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Algorithm Engineer, this hybrid role will involve designing, developing, and testing automated detection algorithms for security screening applications while collaborating with team members both onsite in Torrance, CA, and remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop automated detection algorithms for various inspection modalities
- Transform general requirements into functional software independently
- Mentor junior team members and share expertise across the algorithm development team
Required qualifications
- PhD in Medical Imaging, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with a Master's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience in algorithm development
- Proficient in Python or C++ software development on Windows and/or Linux
- Experience with object detection, image segmentation, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS and containerization tools like Docker is preferred
