Algorithm Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of cutting-edge security solutions, the full-time Algorithm Engineer will design, develop, and test automated detection algorithms for various inspection modalities, working in a hybrid environment that combines onsite collaboration in Torrance, CA, with remote flexibility.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop automated detection algorithms for inspection modalities including x-ray transmission and computed tomography
- Independently translate general requirements into functioning software while adhering to internal development processes
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior team members and collaborate with other development teams
Required qualifications
- PhD in Medical Imaging, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industrial experience with a Master's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience in object detection, image segmentation, and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in Python or C++ software development on Windows and/or Linux
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, and image processing toolkits like OpenCV
- Familiarity with cloud-based services such as AWS and containerization tools like Docker is preferred
