Android Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading a team of 3 to 5 Android engineers, the full-time Android Engineering Manager will oversee the development of system-level apps for an AOSP-based Android TV product, collaborating closely with client engineering and product leaders while working remotely from Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of Android engineers, setting goals and providing regular feedback
- Plan and prioritize team work, ensuring delivery against sprint and roadmap commitments
- Guide the design and development of system apps, troubleshooting issues across the technology stack
Required qualifications
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years in Android development with Kotlin and/or Java
- 2+ years of experience managing engineers, including hiring and performance management
- Strong experience with modern Android development, including Jetpack Compose and Room
- Familiarity with AOSP code and the Android framework below the app layer
