Android Integration Engineer
Job Summary
To support the transition of an OEM's customized Android platform, the full-time Android Integration Engineer will be responsible for moving from Android 14 to Android 16, focusing on framework integration, carrier customization, and retail demonstration mode.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze API and behavior changes between Android 14 and 16, creating feature-gap analyses
- Merge AOSP changes from Android 15 and 16 into the proprietary repository while resolving conflicts
- Implement carrier configurations and port custom features, ensuring successful certification and rollout
Required Qualifications
- Experience shipping at least one major Android version upgrade on a production device
- Strong knowledge of AOSP, Binder IPC, AIDL/HIDL, JNI, Zygote, and Android system services
- Proficiency in Java and C++, with working knowledge of Kotlin
- Experience with Android build systems such as Soong, Blueprint, and Make
- Familiarity with carrier configuration processes, including CarrierConfig and SIM-lock logic
