Android OTA/FOTA Engineer
Job Summary
Integrating OMA-DM/FOTA client into the Android 16 OTA path, the full-time Android OTA/FOTA Engineer will manage safe device-fleet updates, rollback, and carrier device-management requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Integrate OMA-DM/FOTA client into the Android 16 OTA path
- Implement A/B or Virtual A/B updates using update_engine, including automatic rollback
- Execute FOTA campaign and rollback regression testing
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Android OTA integration experience, including update_engine and OTA package generation
- Knowledge of OMA-DM protocol, including DM Tree and Management Objects
- Proficiency in Java and C++ programming languages
- Experience with Android system services and Binder
- Ability to debug failed updates and recover bricked or partially updated devices
