Job Summary
To enhance the Payments Platform team, the full-time remote Android Software Engineer will build and maintain Kotlin applications for PAX payment terminals, focusing on integration, design for failure, and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain Android applications and libraries in Kotlin for PAX payment terminals
- Work at the integration boundary, managing EMV chip application selection and encrypted card payloads
- Participate in engineering design documents and code reviews, ensuring quality and structural integrity
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience shipping production Android applications in Kotlin
- Experience in software development where defects have significant consequences, such as payments or healthcare
- Demonstrable opinions on architecture and API design with specific examples of past decisions
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and their application in engineering
- Experience with Android development against payment terminal hardware is strongly preferred
