API Architect
Job Summary
As a fully remote API Architect, the successful candidate will design, build, and operate core backend services and infrastructure, focusing on the External Data API while mentoring engineers and enhancing data governance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design, development, and operation of scalable APIs and backend platform infrastructure using Python and AWS
- Lead the architecture and continuous improvement of the External Data API, bridging internal data systems and customer needs
- Support and evolve internal APIs, ensuring best practices and comprehensive documentation for cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software, backend, or platform engineering, preferably in a startup environment
- Expertise in designing and scaling RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems
- Strong programming proficiency in Python with a focus on clean and maintainable code
- Experience with streaming data architecture and technologies such as Kafka or AWS Kinesis
- Solid understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, including containerization tools like Kubernetes
