Application Developer

Job Summary

Owning features end to end, the contract Application Developer will work flexibly, either full-time or part-time, on a small engineering team to build a consumer-facing web application, making technical decisions and delivering production code.

Key responsibilities

• Own features from requirements to shipped, tested, production code with minimal oversight
• Make informed technical decisions and address trade-offs while flagging critical calls for senior input
• Review code and provide constructive feedback to teammates, helping to elevate the team's overall skill level

Required qualifications

• 2-4+ years of experience building and shipping web applications
• Proficiency in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular) and a backend language (Python, Ruby, Node)
• Ability to navigate and extend an existing codebase independently
• Strong understanding of version control (Git), REST APIs, relational databases, and testing
• Effective asynchronous communication skills regarding PR descriptions and project blockers
