Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
Collaborating with software engineers and security teams, the full-time Senior Software Engineer, Application Security will focus on securing services, APIs, and developer tools while working remotely or onsite in various locations.
Key responsibilities
- Review application designs and code, develop threat models, and address security risks prior to deployment
- Design and implement authentication and authorization controls for APIs, services, and applications
- Integrate security checks into development and CI/CD workflows, providing actionable findings and remediation paths
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant experience with a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Java, C++, or similar languages
- Practical understanding of web and API security, authentication, and common vulnerability classes
- Experience with threat modeling and security reviews for distributed systems
- Ability to translate security findings into engineering changes based on risk and impact
