Application Security Engineer

Job Summary

Curating and managing security vulnerability submissions, the part-time Application Security Engineer will validate incoming data, communicate with clients, and handle incident response for a remote contract position in Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ongoing triage and validation of security vulnerability submissions for managed programs
• Communicate with clients and researchers to gather additional information as needed
• Handle incident response by escalating and communicating about high-severity vulnerabilities to clients

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or previous security consulting experience
• Demonstrated passion for security assessment research through published work
• High proficiency with Burp Suite and experience with industry-standard tools like nmap and sqlmap
• Ability to execute individual projects while contributing to team goals
• Strong organizational and influencing skills
