Applied AI Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Applied AI Engineer, the position focuses on developing AI-powered applications and services, building data pipelines, and ensuring AI evaluation and reliability, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and offering remote work within the Continental US.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI applications using commercial and open-source models, while evaluating their capabilities and operational requirements
• Build data ingestion and transformation pipelines for various data sources and automate data collection and analysis processes
• Own the evaluation of AI features, establishing measurable criteria for performance and implementing regression testing for continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in software, data, ML, or AI engineering with a track record of building and deploying technical solutions
• Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language and experience with at least one commercial or open-source LLM and its API
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, cloud services, and containerization using Docker and AWS ECR/ECS
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems independently and effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
