Applied AI Engineer

Job Summary

To support innovative AI applications, the full-time Applied AI Engineer will design and build end-to-end solutions across the stack, including backend services, APIs, and user interfaces, while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship end-to-end AI applications using Pinecone's retrieval and knowledge infrastructure
• Develop full-stack solutions that integrate frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate real-world problems into working software solutions

Required qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with experience in designing and shipping production applications
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with experience in modern frameworks like React or Next.js
• Hands-on experience building applications using LLMs, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation
• Familiarity with AI development tools, frameworks, and the challenges of building AI applications
• Ability to independently manage projects from initial concept through implementation and deployment
