Applied Research Engineer

Job Summary

Owning applied RL programs from initial customer challenges to deployed solutions, the full-time Applied Research Engineer will collaborate with external teams to design environments, conduct experiments, and implement improvements in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clear research plans and success metrics based on customer workflows and business goals
• Conduct RL and post-training experiments to enhance agent systems and evaluate deployment outcomes
• Translate successful experiments into reusable environments and capabilities for Prime's research and engineering teams

Required qualifications

• Experience in customer-embedded technical work, research engineering, or applied ML consulting with ownership of build processes
• Proficiency in Python and the ability to create artifacts for use by researchers and engineers
• Hands-on experience with model-training and post-training experimental loops
• Strong experimental judgment and ability to adapt based on evidence
• Comfort with ambiguity and maintaining communication with partners during problem resolution
