Applied Science Manager
Job Summary
Leading the Applied Science function, the full-time salaried Applied Science Manager will build and manage a team responsible for developing quantitative models and infrastructure that support marketplace operations, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Define key metrics and oversee the measurement and reporting of marketplace performance
- Lead the development of pricing algorithms, auction mechanisms, and causal models
- Hire, mentor, and manage a team of Applied Scientists while balancing production work with analytical projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience building and deploying quantitative models in applied or research settings
- Fluency in SQL or equivalent data querying tools
- Experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments
- 1-3 years of experience managing or leading a team
