Job Summary
To support passport demand forecasting for the Department of State, the full-time remote Applied Statistician will develop, evaluate, and refine statistical models, perform simulations, and communicate analytical findings to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain statistical, econometric, and time series models to forecast passport demand
- Perform model validation, backtesting, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate forecasting accuracy
- Analyze historical demand and various data sources to identify demand drivers and uncertainties
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Experience in statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling
- Strong knowledge of regression, time series analysis, and model validation techniques
- Experience with ARIMA, regression-based forecasting, and simulation methods
- Proficiency in Python, R, Stata, SAS, or MATLAB for statistical analysis
