AR Follow Up Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the AR Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, research insurance issues, and ensure resolution of payment discrepancies.
Key responsibilities
- Follow up on unresolved claims and identify reasons for non-payment from payers
- Utilize phone calls and insurance websites to check claim status and resolve issues
- Assist with patient balance follow-ups and complete various special projects as assigned
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
- Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
- Prior office experience involving problem solving and research is necessary
- Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
- Familiarity with computer systems and a reliable home internet connection is required for remote work
