Job Summary
To support a Critical Access Hospital's billing operations, the full-time remote AR Specialist will manage accurate billing, insurance follow-up, claims submission, and payment resolution while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Review and submit accurate claims for various hospital services, ensuring compliance and completeness
- Perform comprehensive follow-up on unpaid and underpaid claims, investigating denials and rejections
- Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve billing issues and monitor aging reports to prioritize accounts
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in hospital billing and/or accounts receivable follow-up
- Experience with MEDITECH hospital information system and Waystar clearinghouse preferred
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing regulations
- Critical Access Hospital billing experience strongly preferred
