Assistant Buyer, Men's Sportswear

Job Summary

As a key player in the merchandising team, the full-time Assistant Buyer, Men's Sportswear will manage vendor partnerships, assist in inventory productivity analysis, and support price change initiatives while working onsite in Washington, DC.

Key responsibilities:

• Liaise with Buyers and brand partners to confirm order details and manage updates to buy sheets
• Prepare Buyers for market by providing insights on historical performance and coordinating logistics for style-out sessions
• Review business performance and recommend in-season actions while managing markdown cadence and price changes

Required qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer, preferably in a major department store
• Strong knowledge of retail math concepts, including markup, margin planning, and inventory productivity measures
• Proficiency in systems such as RFS, AMS, PCW, and NuOrder
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks independently
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite
