Assistant General Counsel - NY Licensed
Job Summary
Owning a significant portion of the commercial legal work, the full-time Assistant General Counsel - NY Licensed will draft and negotiate client agreements, partner contracts, and product terms while working remotely and reporting directly to the General Counsel.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end commercial contracting, including client and institutional agreements
- Negotiate directly with counterparties and provide legal guidance to Product and Engineering teams
- Oversee various legal matters alongside the General Counsel, including corporate governance and regulatory work
Required qualifications
- JD and active membership in good standing of at least one US state bar
- Strong experience in commercial contracting, including drafting and negotiating agreements
- Previous in-house experience, ideally within a small legal team
- Ability to work across multiple legal areas and adapt to new issues quickly
- Experience in building templates and processes to streamline legal work
