Assistant General Counsel, Transactions

Job Summary

To support a growing practice, the full-time Assistant General Counsel, Transactions will manage the legal aspects of investment transactions, including tax equity and debt financings, while working remotely with a preference for candidates in New York or Washington, DC.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal workstreams on tax equity and debt financing transactions, managing timelines and closing deals
• Conduct legal diligence and issue-spotting for project documents and tax credit qualifications, summarizing risks for investment committees
• Standardize legal documents and processes, developing AI tools to enhance transaction efficiency

Required qualifications

• 3-6 years of transactional experience in projects, energy, or infrastructure finance at a leading law firm
• Hands-on experience with tax equity and debt financings for renewable energy projects
• Working fluency in federal energy tax credit frameworks and related qualifications
• Practical experience using AI tools in legal practice to improve transaction processes
• JD and admission in good standing to the bar of at least one U.S. state, preferably New York or DC
