Job Summary
To support a growing technology company, the full-time Associate Counsel - Licensed in State will draft and negotiate agreements, provide product and compliance advice, and manage legal matters remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with carriers, business partners, and vendors
- Research and provide legal advice on federal and state insurance, consumer protection, and privacy regulations
- Investigate consumer escalations and regulatory inquiries, preparing proposed responses and resolutions
Required qualifications
- JD or LLM with a record of high academic performance
- Admission to practice in at least one U.S. state or in Ontario, in good standing
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house, including experience with commercial agreements
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Experience with U.S. legal matters and regulated businesses, insurance, fintech, or privacy is a plus
