Associate Director of Safety Science

Job Summary

Providing safety science and pharmacovigilance support, the Associate Director of Safety Science will work full-time in a hybrid capacity from San Diego, South San Francisco, or fully remote, overseeing safety oversight and input for clinical development activities across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an understanding of the safety profile of assigned products and relevant strategic contexts
• Assist in signal detection and management activities, including the preparation of safety sections for regulatory documents
• Contribute to safety assessments and drug safety reports while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Healthcare professional degree (MD, PharmD, or RN) required
• Minimum of 4 years of drug development experience, including at least 2 years in drug safety
• Broad understanding of safety science, pharmacovigilance, and clinical risk management
• Experience with drug safety databases, such as Oracle Argus
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to train others on departmental practices
