Job Summary
Seeking a creative and highly organized Associate Editor for Licensed Publishing, this full-time remote position will manage a selection of licensed publishing projects, provide editorial feedback, and develop new publishing opportunities in collaboration with authors, agents, and licensors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned licensed publishing projects from manuscript development through publication, ensuring adherence to editorial standards and licensor requirements
- Identify, develop, and acquire new projects with a focus on commercial opportunities and emerging trends in the MG and YA marketplace
- Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, agents, and licensors, serving as a key liaison throughout the publishing process
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of editorial experience in trade publishing with a track record of managing books or comparable projects
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to provide substantive feedback
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills to handle multiple deadlines
- Strong interest in children's and young adult publishing, popular culture, and franchise storytelling
- Experience with licensed publishing and working with licensors is a plus
