Associate Editor, Licensed Publishing

Job Summary

Seeking a creative and organized Associate Editor for Licensed Publishing, this full-time remote position will manage licensed publishing projects, develop new opportunities, and collaborate with authors and licensors to produce compelling books for young readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned licensed publishing projects from manuscript development through publication, ensuring adherence to editorial standards and licensor requirements
• Identify, develop, and acquire new projects with a focus on commercial opportunities and emerging trends in the MG and YA marketplace
• Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, agents, and licensors while managing project schedules and approvals

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of editorial experience in trade publishing, with a track record of independently managing books or comparable projects
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to provide substantive feedback
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines
• Strong interest in children's and young adult publishing, popular culture, and franchise storytelling
• Experience with licensed publishing and working with licensors is a plus
