Associate Security Researcher

Job Summary

Supporting security research operations, the full-time remote Associate Security Researcher will leverage a systems administration background to manage lab infrastructure, assist in threat simulations, and perform data analysis while being mentored to grow into a full-scale Security Researcher.

Key responsibilities

• Set up research environments and manage lab infrastructure to ensure stability of tooling
• Assist in simulating threats and documenting detection gaps for improved defenses
• Perform data collection, log analysis, and initial vulnerability triaging to support Senior Researchers

Required qualifications

• Background in systems administration or IT operations with knowledge of servers, networking, and logs
• Strong grasp of security fundamentals, with certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, or working toward OSCP
• Understanding of penetration testing methodology, even without full-time experience
• US-based candidates only, with preference for those in EST or CST time zones
• Interest in automation and cloud security is a plus
