Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure proper reimbursement for patient services, the remote Authorization Specialist will submit timely authorization requests, set up patient accounts, and verify medical necessity while working collaboratively with healthcare providers and payers.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely authorization requests to insurance companies and payers
• Ensure proper setup and maintenance of patient accounts in the system
• Obtain and review clinical documentation to verify medical necessity

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Basic understanding of medical coding, diagnosis codes, and medical terminology
• Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
• Healthcare/medical billing experience preferred
