Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient services, the remote Authorization Specialist will submit timely authorization requests, set up patient accounts, and verify medical necessity while residing in the PST/MST time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely authorization requests to insurance companies and payers
• Ensure proper setup and maintenance of patient accounts in the system
• Obtain and review clinical documentation to verify medical necessity

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Healthcare/medical billing experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous referrals/priorities simultaneously
• Strong understanding of basic medical coding, diagnosis codes, and medical terminology
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of quality focus
