Job Summary
To drive efficiency within Steady State teams, the full-time Automation Engineer will identify and automate repetitive manual tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Steady State teams to analyze operational work and identify automation opportunities through interviews and ticket data analysis
- Codify best practices and create reusable automation scripts and infrastructure as code (IaC) for deployment and maintenance tasks
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage secrets used in automation workflows to ensure secure and efficient operations
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience with 6-8 years in automation, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and HashiCorp Vault in production environments
- Experience in analyzing ticket data to identify automation opportunities
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration, storage, and backup operations
- Solid scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
