Job Summary
To support the migration from Citrix DaaS to Azure Virtual Desktop, the contractual AVD Consultant will independently validate architecture, optimize performance, and ensure knowledge transfer while working remotely with a focus on security and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Review and validate existing AVD architecture against best practices, documenting findings and closing identified gaps
- Own the golden image build and application delivery strategy, ensuring optimal performance and cost management
- Plan and execute migration cutover processes, including pilot groups and rollback plans, while providing mentorship to the internal IT team
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in end-user computing or cloud infrastructure, with at least 2 years in Azure Virtual Desktop
- Experience migrating from Citrix or a comparable VDI platform for 500+ users
- Hands-on experience with Nerdio Manager for Enterprise and Azure networking/security
- Familiarity with Azure cost management and monitoring tools
- Excellent English communication skills for technical documentation and training
