Aviation Systems Lead Designer

Job Summary

Serving as the senior technical design authority for aviation and transportation projects, the Aviation Systems Lead Designer will focus on high-level system architecture and design execution across various systems, operating remotely in a technical leadership capacity without formal staff management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design for Special Systems projects from concept through construction administration
• Develop system architecture for telecom, security, and airport operational systems, ensuring design quality and compliance
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of system designs

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• 10 to 15 years of progressive Special Systems design experience, particularly in aviation or major transportation infrastructure
• Proven experience leading technical design on complex, multi-disciplinary programs
• Demonstrated expertise in structured cabling, enterprise networking, and security system integration
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., RCDD, Cisco) preferred
