AVP Casualty Underwriting Performance

Job Summary

To lead strategic initiatives across multiple casualty business lines, the full-time AVP Casualty Underwriting Performance will set the underwriting philosophy, drive performance, and cultivate a high-performing underwriting culture while working remotely or onsite in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set enterprise underwriting philosophy and strategic direction for the casualty portfolio, ensuring execution aligned with profitability and risk appetite targets
• Drive thought leadership on market trends in casualty pricing and coverage to maintain competitiveness and customer alignment
• Engage with reinsurance brokers and external markets to benchmark performance and enhance Nationwide's market position

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; post-graduate studies preferred
• 10-25 years of commercial/E&S casualty underwriting experience, including at least five years in a leadership role
• Relevant professional designations such as CPCU or ARM are highly desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of admitted and non-admitted casualty markets and complex risk structures
• Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leadership and external partners
