AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Global Public Affairs Office of the US Department of State, the remote AWS Cloud Engineer will manage cloud and security engineering operations for a WordPress site on AWS, focusing on configuration management, deployments, and security aspects of system design.

Key responsibilities

• Support a WordPress site on AWS, managing a Kubernetes CI/CD pipeline and ensuring uptime and business continuity
• Maintain and troubleshoot production and development environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and build service offerings
• Implement and document cloud infrastructure solutions, including security controls and compliance assessments

Required qualifications

• BS in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related IT field with 5 years of experience in IT/network engineering or security operations
• Proven experience with AWS services and cloud computing, including Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline management
• Strong knowledge of security regulations and frameworks such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
